Marina Cafe
MOOD: CASUAL, RELAX
BUDGET: $
Marina Cafe is the type of place you stumble upon. It sits on Qurum Beach, not far past the Grand Hyatt’s eastern boundary. After a lazy morning sunbathing, perhaps tired of expensive hotel fare that defaults to burgers, pasta or steak, you wander a bit further past the edge of the hotel’s beach. It’s then you see it: clean, whitewashed Marina Cafe. Its promise of simple Lebanese – a cuisine that is always fresh and delicious – and seafood, gentle prices, and a panoramic view of the waters is exactly what a day at a beach ordered.
Take a seat outdoors (and leave the shisha smokers inside). The terrace is shaded to protect from the midday heat, your front-row view of the Gulf is accentuated by a gentle seabreeze. The service is relaxed. All day dining literally extends to all day: no one stops you from staying as long as you want. And you just might need to – with each entree presented lavishly, heaping portions of mezzah, shawarma, and fish that is too delicious to go to waste. Be sure to try the notably good fresh juices.
