There’s a reason daydreams of paradise often consist of tropical drinks and hula dancers. Muscat has the sand and sea, and now they have a slice of Polynesia as well. At the Intercontinental Hotel’s Trader Vic’s, a lively good time can be had, a plate of mouth-watering Mongolian BBQ in hand, a Mai Tai in the other. Most arrive in time to peruse the Asian-fusion menu of steaks, sushi, grilled seafood and specialities like Pad Thai. But hit 8pm, the Cuban band starts (everyday until midnight except on Saturdays), and the floor livens to the swerve of salsa dancers.
