Celebrated beauty and socialite Juliette Récamier captured salon society with grace and charm. Despite the melancholy shadows over her life, her genteel allure was never lost to her many admirers. Designer Anne Gelbard’s tribute – a hotel named in her honor, La Belle Juliette – is neo-baroque reimagined. Its contemporary flourish of bold colors, patterns, and artistic details reflect Juliette’s elegant strength. Each floor marks a different fantasy-version chapter of her life, beginning with romantic pinks of her youth evolving into an inkier and statelier resolve as you ascend the grand staircase. The location, too, in a quiet area of bobo St-Germain befits her, half-hidden, half-supported by artistic sensibility.

ROOMS
Juliette was modern, and so are her personal belongings: iMac instead of a TV. The rooms are alive with a new-and-old mix of vivid color and pretty details – clawed bathtub, antique portraits. Free Wi-Fi and complimentary bottled water in the minibar are small touches of comfort.
